Edmund Smith is fondly known as “Ed” by his fans and friends. Ed is widely known as an artiste with a difference because of his passion for the marginalized community. Ed has served in programs for the illiterate, the mentally challenged, the deaf, people with AIDS and the homosexual community. Ed never failed to use his talents as one of his methods in reaching out to the marginalized communities whom he loves.

• A VCD was released on one of Ed’s concerts entitled “Festa San Pedro” under RLM Arts in 2005
• Ed released a CD entitled “ Homosexuality and the Exgay Lifestyle” – its a combination of his hit songs from the Wake Up album & a radio interview done in Australia in 2006

Ed started performing professionally at a tender age of 13 (1983). He started of as a dancer. Ed recalls dancing in competitions and family events since he was about 5 years old. In 1987, Ed was the champion in the Melaka state level singing competition. Ed’s first manager spotted him in 1989 while he was jamming at a pub during a night out with friends. That was the beginning of Ed’s career as pubs/lounges/hotels singer. This went on till it was time for Ed to leave for Singapore in 1997 to pursue his studies.
