Sermon: “Condemning Christ”- 24th Jan 2010

Sermon: “Condemning Christ”- 24th Jan 2010

Ephesians 5:23…For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ (alone) is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.

  • The moment we receive Jesus and Jesus alone as our Lord and Savior – supernaturally we become part of Jesus’ body (the Body of Christ). In other words – since Jesus is the head and we are His body – Jesus and His Body are ONE!
  •
  • 1 Corinthians 12:27… In the natural, no way – can the head and the body be separated and so it is in the spiritual. How we think, speak and treat a Christian / Church – like it or not, that is how we are thinking, speaking and treating Jesus!

  • Matthew 25:42-45… Jesus especially wants us to pay attention to those in the Body of Christ who are weak spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, financially, sexually and so on. And when we choose to love those who are weak – we are choosing to love Jesus!
  •
  • Luke 6:37… Sadly the fact is – instead of making the choice to love those who are weak in the Body of Christ, so often we choose to judge and condemn them not realizing that we are actually judging and condemning Jesus. When we judge / condemn a Christian / Church – we are judging and condemning Jesus. But the question would be – “What do I do when I have the revelations of a Christian / Church being un-Christful?
  •
  • Luke 5:16 & Matthew 5:44… As always – Jesus has the answer for EVERY question that we need answering. Jesus set the example of having a Prayer Warrior. Jesus always prayed. Jesus taught His sheep to pray. When we have a revelation of a Christian / Church being un-Christful, it is our responsibility to PRAY!
  •
  • Ephesians 6:18… Every Christian is called to be Prayer Warriors and to pray for ONE ANOTHER…like Jesus is doing as Jesus’ sits at the right hand of the God in the person of the Father in heaven. Some people believe that only some are called to be Prayer Warriors but the truth is ALL are called to KEEP ON PRAYING!
  •
  • Today, God in the person of the Holy Spirit dwells ONLY in two places;
  1. 1 Corinthians 3:16… In the Christian
  2. Matthew 18:19-20… If two or three gathered for Jesus’ name sake – Jesus will be there among them.
  • Mark 11:14-17 & 20–21…  After Jesus cursed the fig tree, the tree did not die immediately. Jesus went to the temple in Jerusalem and cleansed it, saying that His house should be a house of prayer and not a den of thieves. After cleansing the temple, Jesus’ sheep saw the same fig tree the next day, it was dead!
  •
  • 1 Corinthians 6:19 … Today we are the temple of God. We should be a “house of prayer”. If we don’t we WILL become a “place of robbers”. Satan, will steal and rob from our temple / our body. Satan will steal and rob our time, talent, treasure, strength, health, youthfulness, wisdom, hopes, dreams & whatever he can.
  •
  • Romans 8:26… Jesus wants us to make our temple a house of prayer by praying in tongues all the time. When you pray in the Spirit, we are praying perfect prayers. The Holy Spirit prays for us. When we make our temple a house of prayer, Satan & his instruments (the robbers) will be driven out of our lives completely.

Sermon: “How the Holy Spirit Helps Us”17th Jan 2010

Sermon: “How the Holy Spirit Helps Us”17th Jan 2010

Romans 5:1… Therefore, since we have been declared righteous (holy) by faith, we have peace with God (in God’s standard) through our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • According to the bible – there is only ONE WAY on how anyone can become righteous (holy) in God’s standard. The Word of God declares that through our faith in Jesus & Jesus alone – supernaturally we become holy – in God’s eyes.
  •
  • John 14:26… When God in the person of Jesus left this earth – God in the person of the Holy Spirit came to be the Counselor, Helper & Teacher. The Holy Spirit is in search for holy people (holiness in God’s standard) – so to live in them!
  •
  • Acts 2:4… From the very first time when the Holy Spirit filled the people – supernaturally, they began to speak in tongues. Yet today – many have fallen into Satan’s trap and are refusing to believe that speaking in tongues is of God!
  •
  • Romans 8:26-27… The bible tells us that the Holy Spirit is inside us to help us in our weaknesses.

  • When we are weak/ when we make a mistake / do something wrong… the Holy Spirit is there to help us. The Holy Spirit is for us. The Holy Spirit is not against us. The Holy Spirit is not in us to point out our faults or nag at us when we are weak / when we make a mistake /  do something wrong. The Holy is in us – to help us!

  • The word “helps” in the original Greek text means “to take hold together against”. The word “together” is referring to the Christian and the Holy Spirit working hand in hand.  In other words, we have a responsibility to work TOGETHER with the Holy Spirit! Our job is to open our mouth to allow the Holy Spirit to pray through us. When we open out mouth and let our tongue loose – we are cooperating with the Holy Spirit in solving our problems / troubles / challenges.

  • 1 Corinthians 14:14… Sadly – in moments of desperation and when there are problems / trouble / challenges;
  1. Christians become fed up and enter into the place of not knowing  how to pray anymore
  2. Or become clueless on what to pray for, many give up instead of praying in tongues!

  • Jude 1:20…When we choose to give up / sit back and worry / do nothing; the Holy Spirit does not have us to take hold TOGETHER to go against our problems / troubles / challenges! When we choose not to open our mouth and pray in tongues – we leave the Holy Spirit with no choice. But when we pray in tongues, we are actually allowing the Holy Spirit to pray through us. And the Holy Spirit will take hold together with us against the problem / trouble / challenge, and pray the perfect prayer through us because the bible tells us that the Holy Spirit makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
  •
  • 1 John 5:14–15… Because the Holy Spirit says perfect prayer / no mistake / flawless prayers – we can be confident that we are praying according to the will of God, and Jesus SURELY hears.

Sermon: “The balance of Grace and Power”10th Jan 2010

Sermon: “The balance of Grace and Power”10th Jan 2010

2 Corinthians 12:9… But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

  • Jesus revealed to Paul – when we are faced with challenges / persecution / trouble / problem; what we truly need is, to believe and meditate on Jesus’ Grace and Power. In other words – the availability of Jesus’ almighty power for our lives even though we don’t deserve it! Some people believe and meditate on Jesus’ Grace and some believes and meditates on Jesus’ Power. But the wise will believe and meditate on the Grace and Power of Jesus!
  •
  • 2 Corinthians 4:8–9…
    • Before knowing the grace and power of Jesus, whenever we are faced with challenges / persecution / trouble / problem;
      • we cry until we have no more tears left
      • Our heart breaks into pieces
      • We become depressed and often feel like the looser
    • But when we start to believe and meditate on the grace and power of Jesus, things change! When we are faced with challenges / persecution / trouble / problem;
      • We may still cry from the outside, but supernaturally we will sense a peace inside
      • We may be sad on the outside, but supernaturally our hearts won’t be heavy and it won’t break into pieces
      • We won’t understand what’s happening, but deep down inside us,  there will be something strengthening us
  • 1 John 4:4…  Supernaturally something good will happen from the inside even when evil is taking place from the outside. That something good, which is rising from the inside of us, is the Power of Jesus in us!
  •
  • As long as we are on this earth, we are desperate for the Power of Jesus because the bible has warned us that we will be hard pressed on every side, made confused, experience misery, persecuted & struck down! The Power of Jesus;
    • Isaiah 9:6 & John 14:27… Brings PEACE: When Satan throws trouble at us, the Prince of Peace who says, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
    • John 14:6… Shows us the WAY: When Satan put us in a bad situation and we feel lost, Jesus who is the way, the truth and the life, will say, “It will all be all right. I will provide a way out for you.”
    • 1 Corinthians 15:57…Gives us VICTORY: At the end of the day we know we are not the looser because Jesus the Victory is already IN US!

  • Colossians 1:27… Today when we choose to believe and meditate on the Grace and Power of Jesus, we will experience Divine Hope of Glory!  “Hope” in the Bible means a definite, positive expectation of good. In other words –
    • Jesus in us is the definite, positive expectation of a glorious family life!
    • Jesus in us is the definite, positive expectation of glorious health!
    •  Jesus in us is the definite, positive expectation of a glorious providence!
    • Jesus in us is the definite, positive expectation of a glorious ministry!
    • Jesus in us is the definite, positive expectation of a glorious life!

Sermon: “A Positive 2010” 3rd January 2010

Sermon: “A Positive 2010” 3rd January 2010

1 Thessalonians 5:8…But since we belong to the day (being in Jesus), let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate (in our hearts), and the hope of salvation as a helmet (in our minds).

  • We live in this world that is full of negativity and naturally the human mind chooses to respond more negatively than positively;
    • When your pastor says he needs to have some PT (Personal Time) with you, do you straight away think, “Alamak, I am going to be rebuke” or do you think, “Maybe my pastor has a word for me and want to pray with me!”
    • When your phone rings in the middle of the night, do you think, “Oh my, it must be bad news” or do you think, “I wonder what the good news is!”
    • When your teenage son comes to you saying, “Daddy, I need to speak with you”, do you respond, “So what is your problem now?” or do you say, “Sure son, daddy miss being with you alone!”
    • When your boss wants to see you, do you say to your colleague, “Oh boy – this is not good” or do you say, “Could it be a promotion?”
  • Romans 12:2…But the moment we become a child of God (through faith in Jesus Christ) – we live our lives no longer “naturally” (like the world does) but we start living our lives SUPERNATURALLY NATURALLY. When we are in Jesus, the bible says supernaturally, our minds will be renewed – thus causing us to be transformed more and more into the image of God!
  • Ephesians 6:17… The supernatural way of having a renewed mind is to put on the Helmet of Salvation. A helmet is to be put on the head/mind. Salvation means to be saved by Jesus.
  1. Putting on the Helmet of Salvation simply means to have a positive mind meditating on the truth that Jesus the Savior will always come to the rescue! When we go through a challenging moment, putting on the Helmet of Salvation is being positive that good coming our way. Choosing to meditate that the challenging moment we are going through is only temporary. Jesus will see us through. We meditate that this challenging moment will end!
  2. We don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow. But when we put on the Helmet of Salvation, we can be positive that we are going to have a fantastic day tomorrow, or the next week, or next month or the whole year through! Our unknown tomorrow and our future is going to be bright!
  • Psalm 71:14-16… If we claim to have put on the Helmet of Salvation – yet we are so negative, it means that we are in denial and have not put on the Helmet of Salvation. When we hear bad news such as; marriages breaking up, a certain sickness that is spreading, friends experiencing miscarriages, people loosing their jobs / going bankrupt, neighbors getting rob and so on. Do we keep our fingers cross or do we say “touch wood that will not happen to me”?
  • 1 John 4:4… Real children of God will seriously put on the Helmet of Salvation – being confident and expecting good to happen because we know, believe and mediate that we are not the same as the people of the world. We know that we have a Savior watching over us. We believe that there are more angels taking care of us than demons against us. We know that greater is Jesus who is in us than Satan who is in the world!

Sermon: “I have No Peace” 24th December 2009

Sermon: “I have No Peace” 24th December 2009

Proverbs 13:20… He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

  • The Word of God exalts wisdom! Every true child of God will supernaturally naturally experience thirtyfold, sixtyfold and even a hundredfold of Divine Wisdom of God. One the greatest reason why God gives us His wisdom is for us to know His will for our lives. The more we experience Divine Wisdom, the clearer we will understand the Will of Jesus for our lives.
  •
  • Jonah 1:3… The 2 major reasons why many reject God’s will;
  1. Jonah 4:1-4… “God Sense” verses “Common Sense (disagree, uncomfortable & inconvenient)”! Jonah felt that it is only right that the people of Nineveh should be destroyed because of their wickedness. Jonah disagreed with what God wanted to do for the people in Nineveh. When we disagree / feel uncomfortable / feel inconvenient about something that God wants us to do – we should not simply conclude that we have “no peace” to do it. Today many are using the phrase “I have no peace to do it” as a way of escaping from doing God’s Will!
  2. Jonah 1:17 & Jonah 4:6… “God Care” verses “Self Care”! Many are busy taking care of SELF. They believe that if they do not take care of SELF then they will suffer. But the bible tells us to forget SELF … then only we are allowing Jesus to take care of our SELF! Jesus cannot take care of us when we choose to take care of ourselves. We are called to care for others and Jesus’ calling is to take care of us.

  • ·         Ephesians 5:17…Jesus wants us to live as wise children and not as fools. Jesus will not tell us to live wisely without showing us how to do it. God’s Word tells us to not be unwise, but understand what the will of God is.
  • ·
  •  Ephesians 5:18–19… When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior – we are supernaturally filled with the Holy Spirit. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit – we are able to CARRY OUT the will of Jesus. What is Jesus’ will for us?
    • 18Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery (wickedness).
    • Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
  1. 1.       19Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. (Having Christful Fellowships)
  2. 2.       Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord (Praise and Worship Jesus from our hearts)

  • Philippians 4:6… In this life there will be moments where are faced with challenges and problems. The more we think about our challenges and problems, the more confused we will get. The more we try our best to come up with a solution for our challenges and problems, the bigger they seem to become. But when we choose to turn away from our challenges and problem AND choose Christful Fellowship AND Praising and Worshiping Jesus, we will supernaturally naturally experience divine solutions.
  • In good times or bad times – we are to have Christful Fellowships and we should find time to Praise and Worship Jesus from our hearts! Jesus will lead us and guide us in all the areas of our lives. Even if you are stuck with a problem or a challenge, we must believe in Jesus that He will show us the way to go or make a way out for us. Either way, we will get the wisdom and help that we need!

Sermon: “Good Soil that Meditates” 13th December 2009

Sermon: “Good Soil that Meditates” 13th December 2009

Psalms 1:1-3… Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.  Whatever he does prospers.

  • The bible teaches us to meditate on God’s truths! Believing in God’s truth is a ONE TIME decision. But meditating on God’s Truth is a CONTINUOUS decision. It is VITAL to know the difference between “believing” and “meditating”. It is easy to believe God’s truth when we hear it being preach in church among many others believers saying “amen”. But is it not easy to meditate on God’s truth – when we are the only Christian at our workplace / home /classroom. When everything and everyone around us is telling us not to believe in God’s truth – yet we still hold on to Jesus’ truth – that is MEDITATION!

  • Matthew 1:23… Once during a Praise and Worship session in church – Jesus gave me a word for the congregation. Jesus revealed that many are experiencing Him in church, Sunday after Sunday but unfortunately – they leave Jesus behind in church, at the end of the service! Jesus is calling God’s children to TAKE HIM HOME. Many meet Jesus every Sunday in church – and that’s it! The bible tells us that Jesus is called Immanuel which means God with us. Once we believe in Jesus – He becomes our Immanuel! Jesus is with us. Jesus stays with us – 24Seven and not just at Church Service.

  • Hebrews 13:5… Christians find it easy to believe God’s truth when they are in the church – because they believe that Jesus is present in church. When Christians realize that Jesus is with them at all times (not just in the church) – then meditation becomes easy too! God promised His children His constant presence.  But sadly not many of God’s children understand this.

  • Luke 8:5-8… When we understand that Jesus is present with us ALL THE TIME, we will supernaturally naturally begin to meditate Jesus’ truth and promises. We will then start to experience a thirtyfold, sixtyfold and even a hundredfold of divine peace of mind, divine joy in our hearts and divine power. We will begin to be peaceful and powerful like Jesus. We will begin to speak like Jesus and behave like Jesus. No one can be in Jesus’ presence without His beauty, love, peace, power and glory touching us.
    • NO SOIL (the unbeliever): Some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up.
    • SOIL (the believer):
  1. 1.         6Some fell on rock, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture.
  2. 2.        7Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants.
  •  GOOD SOIL (the mediator): 8Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.” When he said this, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

  •  We meditate that Jesus’ presence is with us ALL THE TIME by SEEING Jesus in everything that we do and wherever we are.
    • A) You are in a meeting with a group of important people, discussing a big challenge at work. B) Start to see Jesus in the room with you – guiding you in your thinking. C) Jesus’ presence will supernaturally naturally bring wisdom into your mind and you will begin to flow with great ideas.
    • A) You have been accused of something that you did not do. B) See Jesus standing behind the accuser. C) Jesus’ presence will guide you in what to say and when to just listen. The truth will come out and you will be left alone.
    • A) You are going for an interview. B) Start to see Jesus there in the interview room with you, putting answers into your mouth. C) Your nervousness will leave you. You will experience Jesus’ favor on you bringing on positive smiles on the interviewers face.
    • A) You are sitting for a very important examination. B) See Jesus sitting beside you, guiding your mind and your hands as you answer the questions. C) Your fear will leave you and you will remember everything you have learned and do well.
    • A) You are in the middle of a big argument with a family member. B) See Jesus standing near you. C) Your words will change and your body language will become more patient as you see Jesus right there with you. Supernaturally naturally, there will be self-control in you and your family member.

Sermon: “Nothing like Jesus’ Love” – 6th December 2009

Sermon: “Nothing like Jesus’ Love” – 6th December 2009

Isaiah 41:10… So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

  • I had planed to take a few days break from my persecuted life in Melaka. On the very day that I was supposed to leave for my break – Satan (who is so real) threw at my face some horrible experiences;
    • When I went to get some breakfast for my family and I – a group of people who hates me and RLM for reaching out to people was gossiping and making fun of some of our church members – right in front of my face
    • Flower’s (my pet chick) leg was accidentally crushed by my daughter’s clog and was dying
    • A friend whom I have been so nice to – betrayed me and made me so angry
    • After so many years of peace with my mother – I had a big fight with her that brought bad memories of my relationship with her in the past
  • For the first time ever in my life – I decided to take my international passport, my bankbook and I decided to NEVER come back to Melaka so to abandon my persecuted life;

  • Romans 8:35… Yet the Word of God reminded me that neither trouble nor hardship nor persecution nor famine nor nakedness nor danger nor sword can stop Jesus’ love from entering into my life. Jesus’ love for us is bigger and stronger than our sexual challenges, financial challenges, marital challenges, health challenges & even my persecuted challenges! Because of His love for us – Jesus does open doors that no one can shut and Jesus makes a way when there seems to be no way and that is why I am back here preaching today.
  •
  • Psalm 37:25… God showed me what King David said. King David said that from the time he was young until old he has never seen the righteous and their children being forsaken.  Can anything stop Jesus’ love from flowing into God’s Children’s life? Even during the most challenging moments of our lives, the righteous will not be forsaken. While I was alone – still pondering if I should come back to my persecuted life in Melaka, Jesus’ stole my attention by showing me His love in little ways that only He knows how to touch my heart…
    • I got the news from Ps Amanda that Flower lived and was walking (on one foot). Today Flower is walking on both feet with a limp.
    • For about 6 months I have been believing in Jesus for the healing of a painful growth on the sole of my feet. It began to heal completely in these 2 days while I was away.
  • 1 Timothy 1:14… Real Christians must realize that it is Jesus’ love for us that provides for us and our family – our spiritual needs, our emotional needs & physical needs! Sadly – many Christians still struggling because they believe that they have to provide for themselves and their families. They believe that if they don’t, who is going to take care of them and their family.  Jesus wants God’s Children to know, believe and meditate that His love will continue to provide abundantly for us and our family.
  •
  • Romans 8:37… Because God’s love is greater than all the evil put together, we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us. We always win in the fight of life not because of our love for Jesus, but because of Jesus love for us! “My Taxi experience”.
  •
  • Chronicles 20:15–17… During my time away – I started thinking about move out of the house / settlement so to stay away from the persecution. Jesus spoke to me through my brother Gerard. When Sis Elina picked me up – she confirmed it. The next day, the third (complete) confirmation came from Jesus’ Words! Whenever we are in the valley, we must not be afraid/discourage. Jesus is there with us strengthening and holding us. We should continue to just sing of Jesus’ love for us and let Jesus fight our battles for us!

Sermon: “Knowing Jesus” 29th Nov 2009

Sermon: “Knowing Jesus” 29th Nov 2009

John 6:51… I am the living bread (staple food) that came down from heaven (supernatural). If anyone eats of this bread, he will live for ever. This bread is my flesh (ME), which I will give for the life of the world (everyone).”

  • Jesus is the Spiritual Staple Food to those who want eternal life!
  •
  • 1 Peter 2:2… The natural things in life so often reflect the spiritual things. Just as every physical baby needs milk – every Spiritual Baby needs Spiritual Milk. The bible tells us that our Spiritual Growth (after being born-again) begins with desiring PURE Spiritual Milk!
  •
  • Mark 13:10… Definition of the Gospel = the first four books in the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) that tell the story of Jesus’ life and teachings. The bible tells us that the gospel must first be preached!
  •
  • Mark 13:11… Many Christians go through persecution after believing in Jesus. But the bible promises that if we have the Gospel in our lives – when we are persecuted with questions, we don’t have to worry because the Holy Spirit will supernaturally naturally give us divine answers!
  •
  • Hebrews 5:12… The bible warns Christians that without first being nourish with Spiritual Milk – a Believer will never end up becoming the Servant of God – that every Christian is called to be.

  • 2 Peter 1:2… The Gospel is filled with Jesus’ life and teachings. The more we know about Jesus’ life and teachings the more we will experience divine grace and peace in our lives.

  • Grace is the unearned and undeserved favor of God given to us. There is nothing we can do to earn God’s grace. But the more we learn of the truth about Jesus and His love, the more we see His perfect work on the cross, and the more we will experience God’s grace in our lives.

  • Peace too will enter our lives when we discover Jesus through the Gospel. The peace of God sets our hearts free from fear, stress, worries and anxieties.

  • 2 Peter 1:3… When we consume Spiritual Milk – the bible tells us that we will receive;

  •  All things that we need for life. All things and everything else which God has already given are released to us through the knowledge of Jesus our Lord.

  • Godliness.  Discovering Jesus truly is the ONLY way for us to move on from zerofold to thirtyfold to sixtyfold to a hundredfold of godliness. Godliness is a natural desire for every child of God.

  • Every day, we should ask God for wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus. For to know Jesus is to have grace and peace multiplied to us. To know Jesus is to receive all things pertaining to life and godliness!

  • Matthew 24:14… God so desires for everyone to hear the gospel. And the bible says unless the gospel is preached in the whole to all nations the end will NOT come.

The Long Road Home…..back to Jesus!

It’s no coincidence that God gave me a Befriender in Bro Stephen to walk with me through thick and thin, educating and instilling in me the Word of God whenever he could find the opportunity. This is another one of my stories to encourage everyone in their Befriending ministry – existing and potential Befrienders.

Early this year, when Bro Stephen was chosen to be a Befriender to me, I was delighted because I had already built a rapport with him from last year because, as many of you know, he has a heart for people and easily interacts with those around him, even for the very first time.

Furthermore, whenever I was in KL, he prayed for me in every CG that I did not attend. What a show of dedication! His dedication to me urged me on to pursue the way of Jesus in my life. Bro Steve always had a word for me from the Bible just when I needed it whenever I was feeling down and out.

As this year progressed, I have grown to love him as my own flesh and blood and more than that, a very special spiritual brother. Our humility towards each other is contagious – we are eager to learn from each other as well as advise each other and even rebuke each other! Yes, that’s right – even a Befriendee can rebuke his or her Befriender when it’s wise to do so. In fact, some who know this find it hard to swallow but it just goes to show that our relationship is genuine. It has to be for Befriending to work – both ways!

Just before making a covenant with my beloved Bro, we made a pact to connect our spirits in prayer every night without fail in our own homes. This was a brilliant idea of his. We have not stopped since and lately, Jerry Bro and Sydney have joined our group. Just about a month ago, we made another pact to have breakfast every morning and to worship Jesus afterwards. That, too, has not stopped since. This was his idea and I admire his dedication to be there on time even before me. After breakfast, he would normally do his quiet time at the bridge near my workplace while I head on to work.

So much so, I have come to enjoy worshipping my sweet Jesus together with my Covenant Bro, holding hands as we pray, crying together and really feeling each other’s hurt and happiness. Our hearts beat for each other…. The time came this week when the prayer had to stop temporarily for the Christmas holidays as he has family commitments with his daughter, Belle, while school is out for her.

It was really sad to know I will not be meeting up with him in the mornings for more than a month. I have grown to love Jesus more and more because of my Bro. It’s amazing how he venerates and praises Jesus so much that you can’t help but wonder how wonderful our Saviour is! I may come from an educational background, but I tell you, Bro Steve is one person who’s so educated in the Word of God through his own personal study that I respect that man! He is one of Jesus’ gifts to me, besides others in my life.

Last Sunday, I sent him a tearful text message, after watching the movie ‘A Christmas Carol’:

“Bro, I already feel sad because I won’t see you tomorrow morn. I will surely get up early tomorrow and do my quiet time at the bridge. Bro, because of you, I really have a desire to talk to my Jesus tomorrow. Thank you, Bro. I love you. I want to praise Jesus because of you.”

Steve replied:

“Bro, I too feel the same but I think Jesus has great plans for you. Jesus desires quiet time with you. I would encourage you to fill up the days when I can’t have breakfast with you to be with Jesus in quiet time. When you are with Jesus, you will have what you always longed for. Jesus wants to meet you alone. Love you, Bro.”

Spoken like a true Befriender! I have been doing the above without fail – sitting next to the edge of the water across the bridge watching the boats sail in the distance while I poured my heart out to Jesus before going to work. Getting up much earlier than usual for work is not a problem anymore. Praise Jesus! My Bro checks on me now and again to make sure I don’t miss this special time with Jesus!

Thank you for the Befriending ministry in RLM! I am so blessed and have benefited so much! One thing I’ve learned – both Befriender and Befriendee must be willing to be humble and dedicated to each other. Also, both parties should be willing to break barriers by learning to say sorry and ask for forgiveness when necessary. Only then, can Befriending be a success!
