RLM is a non-profit, voluntary and charitable organization that works closely with the marginalized community, such as the illiterate, the mentally challenged, the deaf, people with AIDS (PwA) and the homosexual community.
Edmund Smith is fondly known as “Ed” by his fans and friends. Ed is widely known as an artiste with a difference because of his passion for the marginalized community. Ed has served in programs for the illiterate, the mentally challenged, the deaf, people with AIDS and the homosexual community. Ed started performing professionally at a tender age of 13 (1983). He started of as a dancer. Ed recalls dancing in competitions and family events since he was about 5 years old. In 1987, Ed was the champion in the Melaka state level singing competition. Ed’s first manager spotted him in 1989 while he was jamming at a pub during a night out with friends. That was the beginning of Ed’s career as pubs/lounges/hotels singer. This went on till it was time for Ed to leave for Singapore in 1997 to pursue his studies.
