"KNOW YOUR SPIRIT AND HIS POWER ":

Acts 1:8- But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Power means ability or capacity. Jesus promised that once the Holy Spirit came upon them, His followers would have a new ability.

Being than doing. The believers would be witnesses, not just do witnessing. Evangelism is a process, not just an event. It involves a total lifestyle, not just occasional efforts

Holy Spirit- be aware that there are others who believe in Holy Spirit too but not the same holy spirit! There is a  group teachers that The Holy Spirit is the bridge to God within you. It is the part of your mind—the part of your Spirit—that is joined with the Mind of God. The Holy Spirit is the Voice for God and acts as a reminder to all of God’s children of the unconditional love that God has for them. They say holy spirit is created by god that mean this holy spirit is not god.

That why in 1 John 4:1 say –Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

It is important to understand the Holy Spirit is truly God because of the fact that if we are born again He lives in us.

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own

“Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call” (Acts 2:38,39).

In Ephesians 4:30 we read,” And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” The indwelling of the Holy Spirit may be seen as being a seal of God.

The Holy Spirit is a part of the Holy Trinity with the Father and Son. In the Old Testament the Hebrew word (ruwach, pronounced roo’-akh) was used when talking about the Spirit. This word literally means WIND, even the wind associated with a BREATHE! In the New Testament the Greek word (pneuma, pronounced pnyoo’-mah) was used which means the BREATHE or a BREEZE! We can literally think of the Holy Spirit as the “Breathe of God!”

They (The Father, Son and Holy Spirit) are all:

Omnipotent – All powerful. Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of you shall be called the Son of God.

Omnipresent – At all places at once. Psalms 139:7 Where shall I go from your Spirit? or where shall I flee from your presence?

Omniscient – All knowing. 1 Corinthians 2:10 But God has revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, and the deep things of God.

EternalHebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

EqualActs 5:3-4 But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land? While it remained, was it not your own? and after it was sold, was it not in your own power? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? you have not lied unto men, but unto God.

Holy Spirit was there from beginning (genesis)

Bible tells us that if we claim we don’t have Holy Spirit in us then we do not belong to Jesus.

Romans 8: 9- You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. There are 3 kind of believe-1) after you receive Jesus, you need to ask God again to receive Holy Spirit. 2) There are people who are still waiting for Holy Spirit to come down (Acts 1: 4) and the last group is those who believe you receive Holy Spirit once you receive Jesus.

1 John 4:2-3-This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
