Psalm 91:1… He who dwells in the shelter
of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
Now and then I will take my kids to the playground. A few months ago –
I was at a playground with my kids Angelica 4 and Ethan 3. I am a careful
parent. That blessed evening I met an old friend Anita at the playground.
I have not seen Anita for a long time – so we talked. As we talked
- now and then we will look at our kids playing on the Jungle Gym. All
of a sudden Ethan started calling me. He was hanging on the Jungle Gym
by his thin gold chain around his neck. His tiny cross pendant was hook
to a hole – and there he was hanging. I was shock and ran to him.
I knew that instant – an angel was holding on to him. Ethan’s
chain should have broken and he would have fallen down and injured himself
badly.
Luke 10:19… All good things come from God including our common sense
and wisdom. Sure – we are supposed to use our God given common sense
and wisdom in our daily lives so to stay away from harm that Satan is
trying to put into our lives. BUT no matter how careful we are –
no protection can be compared to God’s DIVINE protection upon our
lives and the lives of the people whom we love. We live in a world where
divine protection is necessary. Jesus’ protection is perfect. It
is available for those who believe. What we cannot do for ourselves and
for our loved-ones – Jesus can do! What is required – is just
a believing heart. We can believe in Jesus for divine protection…
1. For our child who is out of our sight
2. For aged parent who is home alone
3. From accidents as we travel in our daily journeys
4. From any poison that could be in the food that we eat
5. From witchcraft
6. From natural disasters
7. etc
Mark 4:35… Once, when Jesus was in the boat with his disciples,
He invited them to cross over to the other side. We can learn some powerful
truth from this simple story that took place about 2000 years ago.
1. Whenever Jesus calls us for a task – and we when we say we will
do it… Jesus will put His trust in us. Because Jesus trusted that
His disciples would cross over to the other side, Jesus fell asleep.
2. Not even a great loud storm could awaken Him from His sleep, only the
cries of His terrified disciples whom He loved. Jesus’ love for
us - is always the reason why He blesses for us.
3. Faith = knowing the truth + believing the truth + meditating the truth!
The disciples did not have faith when they failed to meditate on 2 powerful
truths!
a) They forgot to focus on Jesus’ call – that is to cross
over to the other side. If Jesus tells us to do something – we just
do it … even when Satan throws a storm at us.
b) They forgot that powerful Jesus was with them in the boat with them
and there was no possibility of their going down.
4. 1 John 4:4… Nothing could hurt God’s children when Jesus
is with us.
Daniel 3:17-25… Even being thrown into a burning furnace (oven)
could not hurt three men of God because they had FAITH (know, believe
and meditate) that God would safe them. They told King Nebuchadnezzar
(who did not believe in the true God) that their God is able to safe them
from the burning furnace. And in the burning furnace, God did not only
safe then BUT He walked with them in the fire.
As the children of God – we must continue to meditate the truth
- that because Jesus is with us, TRULY nothing will be able to harm us!
