John 14:12…I tell you the truth, anyone
who has faith in me will (supernaturally naturally) do what I have been
doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to
the Father.
• Jesus spoke those words before He completed His mission on earth
by doing the final 3 things which are…
1. Dying on the cross
2. Resurrecting from death
3. Ascended to heaven to be with the Father
• Philippians 4:19… Upon completing His mission 2000 years
ago – Jesus has not just made Eternal Life available. He also has
made available - the abundant life for us to enjoy (while we are still
on earth).
• Romans 4:17… Very often, as children of God – many
when they look at themselves, they don’t see what Jesus has already
done for them 2000 years ago. But when Jesus looks at us, Jesus sees what
we can become because of His complete work.
• When Jesus first saw Simon, whose name in Greek means “reed”
(unstable plant), He changed his name to “Peter”, which means
“rock”. Before Jesus finished His mission – while Peter
was already being called “Peter the rock” - was Peter like
a rock — solid, stable and unshakeable?
• Matthew 14:28–30… No - Peter continued to act like
a reed that bends every which way the wind blows. Once, when Peter saw
Jesus walking on water, he took a bold step of faith and said, “Lord,
if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” Then, when
he was walking on the water, he saw the wind and got scared, and beginning
to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
• Luke 22:33…Another time, he said, “Lord, I am ready
to go with You, both to prison and to death.” Then, a few hours
later, he denied knowing Jesus not once, but three times.
• Yet, throughout his reed-like behavior, Jesus kept calling him
“rock” for Jesus knew the time will come when His mission
is over – truly Peter will be a rock!
• Acts 2:41… Upon the complete finished work of Jesus, Peter
stood up to preach and 3,000 people were saved! Peter had indeed become
a rock, a pillar in the early church.
• 2 Corinthians 5:17… Peter was transformed into a new creation
– all those who are in Christ today are no longer the same old person
– if only we believe in the complete finished work of Jesus that
took place 2000 years ago.
• Mark 11:24… Everything was done 2000 years ago. Instead
of asking Jesus for prosperity of the spirit, soul, body, time, talent
and treasures. We should thank Jesus for them. Thank Jesus with faith
believing that they are all already available since 2000 years ago.
• Romans 4:17… Today Jesus is telling us to call those things
which do not exist as though they did — and they will!
